About

Imagine a personal retreat so far away from your work routine that your stress washes away with the nearby Trinity River.

Where nature's melodies and the towering pines of East Texas replace ringtones and street signs. Where the art of the hunt is nurtured and mastered on our private hunting grounds. Where the oldest traditions are renewed and your spirit is awakened by twilight stories around a cracking fire.

We call it the Hornbeck Family Ranch & Lodge. Our guests often refer to it as a little slice of Heaven.
Lodge

The lodge offers 14,000 square feet of comfort and convenience. Whatever your quest, the Hornbeck Family Ranch & Lodge will redefine your sense of adventure with fun and games at our back-to-nature getaway. The expansive front porch and its serene view are just waiting for you and your morning coffee.
Cold nights are made warmer by the welcoming outdoor fire pit. Have a drink at our bar after an eventful day of fishing, hunting, hiking, spa services, and fitness before retiring to our game room for cards and billiards.

Executive Chef Christopher Brady, CCC/PCII is a New Orleans native who has worked at a variety of notable restaurants, including Emeril Lagasse’s NOLA and Barton Creek Resort. The lodge chef collaborates with other world-class chefs each year to bring new unique dishes to the Hornbeck Lodge, offering our guests an exquisite culinary experience.
Ranch

Hornbeck Ranch is a managed game area under the Texas Parks and Wildlife program. Their biologists and our game management staff collaborate to ensure development of trophy-quality deer and other wildlife. All of this is combined with a strict ranch safety course directed for all ranch activities. The course highlights firearm handling that ensures a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Wild game enthusiasts will be thrilled with 5,000 acres of ranch designated for select game hunting. The habitat is perfect for producing large bucks, wild boar and different species of fowl including duck, quail, dove, turkey and wild birds.

Dove, wood duck and mallard hunters will delight in the wide variety of species that flourish here. The quail area has been sowed with four select native grasses specially chosen to attract and harbor the finest quality birds.

Pasture land is planted in native grasses that covered the East Texas prairies when they were home to the American buffalo. Today, these bunch grasses reach higher than a man’s head and their deep roots extend five feet deep in the soil giving protection from Texas droughts.

Nestled between Huntsville and Crockett in East Texas, this beautiful lodge and 5,000-acre hunting and fishing facility stretches 6.5 miles along the east side of the Trinity River and is conveniently located about 110 miles from downtown Houston.
A working ranch, the grounds are home to over 350 head of cattle grazing on 2,300 acres of native pasture with 2,700 acres of hardwoods and pines committed to wildlife.

36-acre Lake Hornbeck is brimming full of good fishing—from large mouth bass to blue gill. The marsh edges are designed as breeding grounds, and nature has been gently engineered to keep the lake at a near constant level, making sure there is an ample supply of quality fish.

The ranch offers even more for you to explore, such as a five-stand sporting clay range with computerized throwers, sightseeing, and nature walks.you enjoy
